Tim Halberg picked us! / LOST photos

as many of you probably do, we follow, and support, lots of other photographers. Tim Halberg is one of those photographers. he really does some amazing work. take a peek at his site by clicking here. along with tim's images, you can see the sweet prize that he was so kind to offer up (and pick us to win).
thanks again tim!

we also found this little "LOST" gem on his site. if you're a fan of the show (or want to be) peep this.

2 hour premier next week! (January 31st)

as long as we're talking about LOST. here's some shots we took, while on vacation, of the LOST set on oahu before the first season of LOST aired. being good photographers, we "didn't see" the signs someone posted all around the set that said "no pictures." you know how we feel about signs. especially signs that say "no." the set was right off the side of the road. coincidentally, and in no way related, right about the time we saw the set was about the same time we became "hopelessly lost" and had to do several u-turns and make numerous passes by the LOST set before we found our way back to the right direction. luckily we were on the only road in that entire area of the island, and it only had 1 lane in each direction. :)

when we got home we told our friends and co-workers that we had a rough landing when we flew to oahu and showed them these pictures. we added this next picture to seal the deal. everyone flipped out. then they realized..."wait a minute...how did you not only survive a gnarly accident like that, but still have your camera in-hand snapping shots of the carnage." there were a few of our friends that didn't realize we had them on a hook and were reeling them in, but we let em off...eventually. :)

here's rain's first attempt at making a scared face. not quite what we were looking for.

Trash the Dress Session with Rebecca and Jerome

the weather man said the temperature would be well below freezing, there would be over a foot of snow on the ground, and the wind would make it "feel" colder than it actually was. snow? in san diego? nope. i speak of the weather man in rochester new york, which is where rebecca and jerome reside. with a weather report like that, they decided it was a perfect time to head out to san diego to visit their ohana, catch a little sunshine, and squeeze in a trash the dress session while they were at it. after chatting through several emails, i was happy to finally see rebecca and jerome in-person. rebecca looked incredible and jerome wasn't half bad himself.
we got started in the beautiful santa luz area of san diego. april said this shot makes her sing "i've been waiting for a true love's kiss and a prince i'm hoping comes with this."

most days this is just a simple underpass.

add rebecca and jerome with a little sunshine and it becomes an enchanted underpass of affection (more commonly known as the tunnel of love).

can you tell these two really love each other? you'll be seeing lots of this so kids, shield your eyes!
(that's what rain always says when she sees anyone smooching.)

no snow here. we had an awesome san diego day.

rebecca was so beautiful we placed her on top of this rock for all in the land to see. and the commoners below did exalt with a resounding huzzah! :)

after leaving santa luz we hit the bricks down in pacific beach. rebecca and jerome found a nice spot to kick back and showed us their his and hers adidas. sweet.

next we headed down to one of the local landmarks, crystal pier.

of course, walking around pacific beach in a wedding dress will attract a little attention. get a load of this guy cat-calling rebecca. oh wait. that's jerome. never mind.

rebecca looked absolutely stunning. when she walked onto the pier, all eyes were on her.

so happy together. that california sunshine put a nice glow on rebecca and jerome's smiles.

again, rebecca looked so amazing. her smile was brighter than sunshine.

i spy with my eye...rebecca's beautiful smile.

jerome was throwing out the vibe and rebecca just couldn't resist getting all hugged-up on her man.

ya, we pretty much took over the whole pier and made ourselves comfortable. you're allowed to do that sort of thing when you have a wedding dress on.

how random is this? of all the people in a city of millions, who do you think walked by while we were shooting? one guess. jimmy from rochester! actually, we don't know who he is, but he happened to walk by and jerome saw his sweatshirt, so we dragged him in for a shot. rochester in the house! apparently, rebecca and jerome were not the only ones trying to escape the snow.

a quick stop under some palm trees to bask in the glow of the san diego sun before getting some sand between our toes.

jerome was such a trooper. we made him stand like this for hours waiting for the sun to be at just the right spot.

this was jerome's first time on a beach in san diego, so we made the most of it. we stayed until the sun dipped into the pacific. we didn't have a blizzard warning looming or anything, but with the sun gone the night air got a bit chilly (for us san diegans), so it was time to wrap it up. not to mention, rebecca started talking about all her favorite places to eat in san diego that they don't have back in new york (ie wienerschnitzel, in n out, robertos, jack in the box, etc) and her favorite ice cream (mint chocolate chip) and instantly made my tummy rumble.
